Radio Controlled Yachts

Boating comes in all sizes. Come and see the little radio-controlled yachts and launches cruising on the Festival Lake and on display at the Whangārei Art Museum

Sail Northland

Learn about Sail Northland's programs that encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the sport of sailing. Come, meet the kids and the adults and see the dinghies they use.

Gyotaku

Bring your imagination and try this traditional Japanese method for painting a tee shirt with a real fish.

Boat rides

We are pleased to have harbour cruise launch, Waipapa, giving three free tours on each day 10.30am, 12.30am and 2:30pm. The steam boat Puke will be also offering free rides to the general public. Weather permitting there will also be an opportunity to try dinghy sailing.

R. Tucker Thompson

Northland’s own tall ship the R. Tucker Thompson will be docked amongst the display boats. You can go aboard and view this iconic ship.

 

They are also offering a raffle to raise funds for their youth programme:
