In this talk, Dr Joost de Bruin, Director of the Hundertwasser Art Centre, will talk about the painter, architect, ecologist and visionary Friedensreich Hundertwasser’s fascination with the element of water and his dream to sail his own ship the Regentag all the way to New Zealand. He will show images of Hundertwasser’s artworks featuring boats and ships, rain and other references to water, and explain how passionate Hundertwasser was about water conservation. He will also tell the story of how Hundertwasser acquired the Regentag and how the ship became his first architectural project.
